There are currently 344 dog breeds registered with the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), which is the largest canine registry in the world. In comparison, the American Kennel Club (AKC) currently recognizes 202 dog breeds. That’s not including all of the “provisional” breeds that have yet to be accepted into a registry. And let’s not forget all of the “designer” dogs, like Labradoodles and Puggles, that have become so popular over the years.
